Nature's Own Eco-Friendly Biodegradable Ribbon from Charles Clay Ltd. Made from a sustainable source of Swedish grown Spruce & Pine trees, Nature's Own biodegradable ribbon is woven in England entirely from yarn-dyed cellulose (99.9%), producing a minimal carbon footprint. The process begins with the managed care of trees in Sweden (where 3 trees are planted for every one cut), every stage of the creation of Nature's Own ribbon adheres to the highest ecological standards. The cellulose is dyed using Oko-Tex Standard 100 before being spun into yarn so the bleaching takes place in a "closed bleach loop", meaning the process is Chlorine free. The effluent (waste byproduct) produced during the dying and spinning process is converted into methane gas which is then used as fuel for running the mill. The biodegradability of nature's Own ribbon in ordinary household compost, means that it will return to the soil upon disposal, the way Nature intended. |
